Ljetni kamp Blue Butterfly održava se u povijesnoj tvrđavi Sv. Ivana u Šibeniku. Stara tvrđava podignuta je 1646. godine, a danas pruža smještaj, učionice i uređene edukativne prostore našem ljetnom kampu engleskog, njemačkog i hrvatskog jezika Blue Butterfly.

EXPERIENCE HISTORY IN THE ST. JOHN'S FORTRESS

St. John's Fortress was built in 1646 in less than two months at the beginning of the Candian War according to the project of the Venetian military engineer Antonio.

A year later, in 1647, there were heavy battles with the army of the Turkish pasha Tekelija, who wanted to occupy it in order to rule the city.

The fortress has a star-shaped ground plan, and on the northern side it is reinforced by a high brick embankment in the shape of a pincer (Italian: tanaglia), which is where the name Tanaja, which the people of Šibenik often use, comes from.

During the second half of the 17th century, the fortress was reshaped and strengthened several times.
